به گزارش روابط عمومی فدراسیون وزنه برداری؛ محمد کبیری رییس کمیته وزنه برداری مسترز آسیا همراه با عوامل اجرایی این کمیته در سفری دو روزه به اسلام آباد، پایتخت پاکستان، از امکانات این شهر برای میزبانی دومین دوره مسابقات وزنه برداری مسترز آسیا بازدید کردند.

در این سفر که به منظور ارزیابی امکانات ورزشگاه لیاقت و برنامه های میزبان انجام شد، دیدارهایی با عالیت‌رین مقامات ورزش پاکستان نیز برنامه ریزی شده بود.

کبیری همراه با ارشدخان ترک، رییس انجمن وزنه برداری مسترز پاکستان، نخست با شاهد اسلام، دبیرکل و سپس با یاسر پیرزاده رییس هیات ورزش پاکستان دیدار و گفتگو کرد.

پس از انحلال وزارت ورزش پاکستان در سال ۲۰۱۱ هیات ورزش عالیترین نهاد مدیریتی ورزش در این کشور است.

این مسابقات قرار است از تاریخ ۶ تا ۱۲ فوریه ۲۰۲۶ برگزار شود و همزمان با آن، رقابت‌های معتبر Masters World Grand Prix برگزار خواهد شد که نقطه عطفی در تاریخ وزنه برداری مسترز آسیا و جهان خواهد بود.

شاهد اسلام در این دیدار با ابراز خرسندی از میزبانی پاکستان گفت: «ایران برای ما همچون خانه دوم است.»

همچنین یاسر پیرزاده نسبت به گسترش روابط فرهنگی و ورزشی میان دو کشور ابراز امیدواری کرد.

این سفر، تعهد مشترک مسئولان کمیته وزنه‌برداری مسترز آسیا و مقامات پاکستانی برای برگزاری رویدادی در سطح جهانی را تقویت کرد؛ رویدادی که قرار است روح ورزش مسترز را در سراسر آسیا جشن بگیرد.

Islamabad Assessed for Hosting the 2nd Asian Masters Weightlifting Championships

Islamabad, Pakistan – Mohammad Kabiri, President of the Asian Masters Weightlifting Committee (AMW), led a two-day official visit to Islamabad alongside the committee’s executive team to evaluate the city’s readiness to host the 2nd Asian Masters Weightlifting Championships.

The visit focused on inspecting Liaquat Sports Complex, the proposed venue for the event, and reviewing the host’s organizational plans. High-level meetings were also held with senior Pakistani sports officials, including Arshad Khan Turk, President of the Pakistan Masters Weightlifting Association. Kabiri met first with Shahid Islam, Secretary General, and later with Yasir Pirzade Chairman of the Pakistan Sports Board.

Following the dissolution of Pakistan’s Ministry of Sports in 2011, the Pakistan Sports Board has served as the country’s highest governing body for sports.

The championships are scheduled to take place from February 6 to 12, 2026, and will be held in conjunction with the prestigious Masters World Grand Prix—an event expected to mark a major milestone in the history of masters weightlifting across Asia and globally.

During the meetings, Shahid Islam expressed his enthusiasm for Pakistan’s hosting role, stating, “Iran feels like our second home.” Yasir Pirzade also voiced optimism about strengthening cultural and athletic ties between the two nations.

This visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of AMW and Pakistani officials to deliver a world-class event that celebrates the spirit of masters weightlifting throughout Asia.
